About The Fish Nerds Podcast

Clay Groves, pictured to the left decked out in FN gear, is obsessed with both fish and fame. He’s best known for a now-world-famous quest to catch and eat every kind of freshwater fish in New Hampshire. After catching and eating 48 species of fish and completing this epic quest, Clay couldn’t stop talking about the salty adventures or the fishy people they met along the way… Soon after, to satisfy his need for fishy conversation, the podcast was born.  The style has been described as a cross between NPR’s Car Talk and the Tonight Show Night (Fallon, not Leno).

With over 200 recorded podcasts, we’ve assembled a loyal fan base of die-hard nerds, fisherfolk, and fisher-nerds that make it all worth doing. Check it out, it’s kick-bass!

The best podcast around!

The best podcast around! Reminds me of going fishing with my dad! We never stay on subject, we talk about worldly events, and we are never smarter after hanging out! I told him the best segment was the screaming frogs.. had me in tears!! He said what the hell is a screaming frog and what a podcast!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. He’s in his late 70s!

One of the best things I ever found on the net...

One of the best things I ever found on the net…the focus of the show being on the big picture of all things fish, not just “how to catch’em”, appeals to the geeky nerd and environmental passion in a true angler’s personality.

It's also about the outdoors, hunting and being a good steward of the Earth

I love this podcast. It’s not just about fishing. It’s also about the outdoors, hunting and being a good steward of the Earth. Clay is a great guy and I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who enjoys the outdoors.
